Smart set

Cropped sweater: Des Petits Hauts and Whit shorts, both from Violet Boutique, J.Crew bag and sandals, H&M bangle, reading glasses: Bang on Vancouver

Color blocking was a big topic last year (I can’t recall if it was mostly Gucci‘s power set that launched the trend). The trend hasn’t changed for this season: in spring, color blocking had been mostly done with lighter tones or pastels, which I loved for their fresh approach in starting the new year. For summer, a more vivid color combination is a great go-to everyday outfit. Color blocking is so easy – if it’s done right: one color goes on top, the other one on the bottom. Finish off with a neutral shoe in nude, tan or even gold if you want to go a bit more glamorous. Accessorize with more neutrals or add a third color (make sure it fits within your color range, though). I’m personally obsessed over this coral and navy blue color combo; you can find so many more great colour and print inspirations at Violet Boutique, so make sure to check it out! Thank you April for modelling!!

Neutrals

Zara pants, heels and wallet. Sweater: Des Petits Hauts (in Vancouver at Violet Boutique). Bangles and sunglasses: H&M

Do you own a perfect pair of white summer pants? I had been looking for some made out of a flowing, light material. I was hunting for some even wider ones than these, the “palazzo trousers”. However, before I could pick up a pair, they were already sold out! White pants are so elegant, and when wearing tone-in-tone outfits like this one, I create contrast with textures. The top and clutch make this outfit certainly more of an evening look, as sparkle and sequins instantly add glam. Before investing money into any more clothing, though, I must pay more attention to jewelry. I basically own nothing but H&M accessories! Winning the lottery might help…

Leopard sandals

I found the perfect summer sandals at Zara. They work with white pants, jeans, shorts… anything really. In love with the leopard print and the clean design.
